Parts Swap 73 C20 to 77 C10

What if any drive train and suspension parts would swap over?
Or does the 73 C20 make a for a good parts truck for the 77?

Re: Parts Swap 73 C20 to 77 C10

I like my 73 c20, but the cab and rockers are rusted and the interior is bad. The bed and the drivetrain for the 73 C20 are in good condition.

I can't take the cab off of the sliverado due to it being a 77, It would no longer be smog exempt here in California.

I like the 14 Bolt read end on the 73, I also like the 8 lug over the 5 lug,
So the question really is can I swap the rearend and front rotors over to the 77 from the 73?

Just learned that this is a Big 10 truck.

Re: Parts Swap 73 C20 to 77 C10

If the 77 is a Big 10 then you already have the 3/4 ton springs front and rear. You would just have to swap the rear end over. I'm not sure what is involved for the conversion to 8 lug in the front though, maybe someone who has done it will chime in ? It may be just a simple as a rotor swap, and maybe calipers and pads since I suspect the 8 lug rotors are larger.
