69-70 grill and clearence lights questions..

I went to this guys house to get some parts for my 56 and found what was left of an 69 chevy camper in the back 40 he said it was going to the crusher but that I could get what ever parts I wanted off it for 100 bucks..... So now for the questions it has the cleaence lights on the top of the cab and there in pretty good shape one is broke but the rest are in pretty good shape they are flat units are these worth anything ????? It also has cherry grill inserts not broken or anything I know that either 69 or 70 grill inserts are not reproduced anymore not sure which one? Is this something I should snag I dont need em but if someone else can I will get them. Also it has an underdash a/c unit it also had power steering the camper is long gone so there are none of those parts.... Anyfeed back would be great....

The flat, more commonly known as hockey puck and pretty rae. if in good shape they recover your $100 I think. Get some good pics for show on the parts board. You never know what some people will want. I would personally pull the cab lights, and the harness. Longhornman seems to be the one who knowa alot about these cab lights. Shoot him a pm.

The hockey pucks were`69s.The`69 grille is the one not reproduced.The`70s have sets of raised(slightly)find with bright chromish-silver accent.The`69 has just the rectangles.Tell him there ain`t much, but you`d give $50 for a few things. That`s $50 more to what the scapeyard will give, right?

Re: 69-70 grill and clearence lights questions..

The 70 model grill is the one not being reproduced, not the 69. The 70 model has the verticle bars and is black. The 69 is the one with the little squares that is usually a silvery gray color.

I tought it was the other way around. But,anyway, don`t you mean horizontal bars on the`70?For what the repro inserts go for and the fact that,if unbroken, original ones can`t wear out I`d still get the insert.

Question Re: 69-70 grill and clearence lights questions..

Well there's 12 rows of horizontal bars seperated by a verticle bar (is what I was meaning lol) Yes definitely grab the grille insert if it's not broken. Why doesn't anyone reproduce the 70 style grille?

Re: 69-70 grill and clearence lights questions..

Snag it all for $100 bucks, there is always someone who needs parts, get the trans hump cover, if it's there, take it all, horns, battery tray, everything,
BTW, I pulled a set from a 69 and sold them with the wiring harness in tact for $50 bucks on the boardd.
