New Custom Seat pics !
Had this done a few months ago. Was at local PNP and found a freshly recovered seat with new foam. Snagged it for 35 bucks. New foam for these seats are big bucks. Mine was shot. Took it and had it redone in the tweed I picked out and added the bowtie in the center. Head rests are from a Volvo and are mounted directly to the back wall. Nice driving sitting up rather than basically sitting on the floor.

Re: New Custom Seat pics !
Looks great! Are you going to cover the headrest to match the seat?

Re: New Custom Seat pics !
Want to get mine done with something similiar . Like the tweed . Is it expensive. Ithink matereial like this actuall y goes better with our trucks than leather etc.
Did you weld or bolt on the headrests. great clean look / good job. |

Re: New Custom Seat pics !
The headrest are bolted on to the rear panel with clamps and sheet metal screws. I'll post pics tomorrow along with console. . I'm the only one who drives the truck, so if you move seat up, head rests stay in place. the console is a Iron Horse brand I believe, it's supposed to sit on your seat, but I mounted 5" round speakers in he sides. And screwed it to the tranny hump. Rather than hack the dash to install a modern stereo, I mounted a am/fm/cd player with remote control under the driver seat . Way cool. Still has the stock am/fm/cassette player in dash but modern stereo under seat . 5" round in console, 6x9"s in back where stock speakers went. I made some custome wood adapters. I'll also post pics of dash. It's a replacement made of solid brown plastic foam kinda stuff. Not vynal over foam. Five years old and still looks great. As far as the seat goes, the seat was kinda $$$. I'm in to the seat for about $500. But hey, it's like the entire interior of your ride. And your ass sits on it. Other minor mods are a front sway bar from a 3/4 ton. Big big big improvement. No more body roll around corners. This is the best mod you can do for low bucks.

Re: New Custom Seat pics !
I know this is a very old post- any chance original poster can repost those headrest photos/details? Pictures seem to have disappeared.
I'm looking for a good idea for headrests and the description sounds perfect. Posted via Mobile Device |
