quadrajet intake manifold

Is the stock manifold the best one for the quadrajet or do aftermarket ones work the same or better? thanks

Re: quadrajet intake manifold

I have an edelbrok intake and just removed the q-jet from mine. I think it should work with an aftermarket one. I m not 100% sure though.

Re: quadrajet intake manifold

When my stock cast iron intake cracked, I replaced it with an Edelbrock 2101. No noticable difference...

Re: quadrajet intake manifold

has to do more with how you tune the carb's and which you are better at tuning personally. Some people are better with Holleys, some are better with the quadrajets.

I tend to think just with how long the quadrajet lived in the GM corp, there must be some good things about it =). Once you get the hang of them, they can be fun. My only advice would be electric choke, no matter what you end up going with..
