wipers park in up position

Hello, can anyone explain the reason why the wiper motor parks itself in the up position?

That is - when they are wiping and you turn the knob to off in the middle of any wipe stroke, they are supposed to continue rinning until they reach the down "parked" position.

Mine do not do that - they "park" at the end of the forward stroke position - the mid stroke.

Has anyone seen this / know the cause?

Thanks

Re: wipers park in up position

Have you tried waiting to turn the switch to the off position until the blades are headed towards (down stroke) base of windshield? Cb
