Re: 350 sb
Ummm...
Your lifter is loose? Or your rocker is loose? Why can't you tighten it up? Really confused on this one... |

I corrected all of your vocabulary. Maybe now you might get an answer to your question since it took me 10 minutes to figure out wtf you were trying to say. |

Re: 350 sb
Thanks for interpreting that ocbaud. First question I have is are the rocker studs press-in or screw in? It sounds like they are press-in and they have worked their way out. Yes, that will make the engine lose compression. I do not think it is possible to fix this without removing the heads and having a machine shop tap them for screw in studs. I have heard of 'pinning' press in studs, but they would need to be set at uniform heights first, then the boss is drilled thru the stud and a roll pin inserted - not easy to do with the head on the engine intalled in the truck. Next question is what are the specs for the cam you have installed? Is it hydraulic or solid, roller or flat tappet? Third, what is the seated pressure, installed height, and coil bind specs for the valve springs? Fourth, what is the rocker arm ratio? Fifth, what length pusrods do you have? Did you check the valve geometry to make sure they are the correct length for your engine? And have you made sure none of them are bent?

Re: 350 sb
I would consider the fact that your cam may be going flat. If you pull the valve cover off and have someone turn the motor over, you should be able to see if that pushrod moves up and down as much as the others. Jeff
