lift help

i have a 72 gmc lwb and i want to lift it 6in with a tuff country lift kit, now my question is, has any body used there lift before and how good are they, and with a 6in lift will i need new drive shafts and stuff like that.

I have had 3 different 4" Tuff Countrys and I would buy another over most of all the others. You may have to lengthen your drive shafts. It's different from truck to truck and what you are running now. You will need shocks.

How was/is the ride with the tough country 4" lifts? I have the 4" Rancho and it definantly rides a little stiff...

The BDS I have now bounces me in the seat and the Tuff Country never did that on city streets.

I previously had 4" Tuff Country springs in my 69 K20 and now I have their 6" springs, with the heavy duty extra leaf since I have a bbc.

The ride is pretty good and not much different than the 4" lift. There are certain areas of a particular road that I drive that will get the truck bouncing, but it settles down once I pass that area. On the highway the ride is pretty nice IMO.

My K5 has Skyjacker 4" springs and they ride almost identically to the 6" Tuff Country springs on my K20.

My 69 K20 needed a longer front driveshaft with the addition of a CV joint when I did my 4" lift. Usually a 4" lift doesn't need any mods. Your rear driveshaft may need to be lengtened, you won't be certain until you do the lift.

You most definetly will need to address your steering with a raised steering arm and your front rubber brake lines will not be long enough.

Also, you might need to lengthen your emergency cable.
