powder coating oven
To those that have an oven for powder coating in the garage, what amperage of circuit breaker are you using for this oven?

I assume that you're speaking of a household oven. I have a double pole 30 Amp. You should check the numbers on the back of your oven to see what the breaker size is recommended. Most ovens are 30 or 40 amp 240 volt

I do have a household oven. I have looked everywhere on the oven for the recommended breaker amperage but can find nothing. Perhaps I don't know exactly where or what to look for. It is an Amana model #ARR630WW if, for some odd reason, someone happens to know the breaker amperage. I have a 20 amp circuit in my garage for a plasma cutter that I might swap a 30 amp breaker into...I will also verify the wire can handle that amperage.

Try lifting up the top of the stove and look under there. I'll bet a 30 amp will work for you. A 20 amp might just be too low. Also, my wire running to my garage is 8/3 size wire. Now when I use this oven, (I haven't tried it yet) I don't think I will be able to use anything else at the same time, except maybe the lights. Just go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a 30 amp., and try it. Worst that would happen, is that it will just trip it. Or for that matter, just try the 20 amp. first and see what happens.

30 amp....house oven (Kenmore)!!!
It sure somes in handy....powder coating various brackets and enjoying a fresh baked pizza at the same time. Mmmmmmm.

Try the 20 first - if it does trip, don't try a 30 until you know what wire size you do have going to it. if it can't pop the 30, you don't want the wires burning up.

Just finished hooking mine up and testing with a 30 amp. Works great at 400 degrees and breaker doesn't trip.......
