Who's done a body lift?
I need help guys. i got a 3" body lift from a friend the other day and want to put it on the '72. I have a standard transmission and it's a 4x4. My main concerns are the steering assembley and clutch linkage... both will most likely need something done to them, what do i do? What are some things I should watch out for? What are the tricks to putting one of these in? Thanks much.

I did the 2" body lift. I have an AUTO. I had to extend the tranny linkage. That was it.

I put a 3" body lift on my 70 K5 but with a automatic transmission. I had to seperate the steering shaft and pull out to a few inches to decrease pull on steering box, had to enlarge hole for t-case shift rod as 4 low couldn't be reached, might have to do same for the 4spd. shifter, lenghtened gas filler and vent lines and I think one or two ground straps. Not all that hard and it makes working on the underside equipment much easier not to mention the added room for HEI.

I'm just getting ready to put on a 2" lift to give me a bit more room when swapping in a 454. Yep, you better start saving some money cause your gonna have to have bigger tires! Just tell yourself, I have to have them, any excuse you need to get bigger tires!
