Junkyard find

It's been a few months since I found a deal on something from a junkyard. But today was a good day. I found a 67 C-20 sitting outside a yard that was very rough, but had a couple things I've been looking for. I got a set of buddy buckets and a 4 core radiator for $150.00 with them pulling the parts. The seat needs recovered of course, but still worth it. The only other parts I feel were worth looking at was the AC system and uncut dash, maybe the engine and tranny, but there is no chance it was a running engine. Looks like it sat under a big pine tree for many years with the hood off. The grill may be OK, steering wheel was faded but not cracked up too bad, had power brakes. The rest is scrap waiting to be melted.

Re: Junkyard find

I`d grab the steering wheel. They are all painted anyway and repros are expensive.

Re: Junkyard find

I would be interested in the drivers side ac outlet from that 67. The bottom is a little different on a 67-68 than the 69-72 due to the park brake handle differences. Any speed warning dash? Mark

If I had the time and it was about 140 miles closer to me, I would have stripped it of anything useable. But I got something I can make a buck from and something I can really use.

For those interested, this truck is at Ricks Auto Parts in Royalton, MN. It's sitting out front and waiting to be crushed. My parts are already paid for and my brother-in-law is picking them up for me when they are pulled. There was also another truck, a 71 that has been preety well stripped sitting on the south side along the fence. I think it was another C-20. This one had the front discs still on it.

Happy hunting!

Re: Junkyard find

I found a longhorn bed at a wrecking yard that has the side 'tool compartment' for 150.00 today.
