Windshield install, And door jam rubbers

Anyone have any tips for installing a windshield? I also started to put new door rubber on but it don't stay in place. Should it be sealed in /on by something? I got it from LMC, seems kinda cheap to me. Is there a better one out there?

I got the same ones from LMC. They need to be glued on. P.I.T.A.!!!!!!! A friend told me that the ones off of an s-10 fit real well, and they crimp on. Find them in a junk yard real cheap. They are already broke in and his door shuts real nice. I had to slam my door after installing LMC's. I havent done my windshield yet, but I did do my back window in about 25 min. in and out. To install it I placed rubber around window. Then I took an old extension cord and and put in the groove that frame flange goes into. Making sure that the ends of cord come together in the middle at the bottom of the glass. Have a helper from the outside set bottom in place and apply pressure. Start with one of the ends of the cord and pull. As you pull the cord it will pull the rubber inside. Slowly work your way around the window till it is all the way in. Hope this helps. Does you glass have the stainless trim?.....if so, it really makes it fun! (insert sarcasm).

I got new rubber and trim and 5 tries later, one bent trim piece, and one broken windshield...it went in.

If you don't have the trim, it's alot easier!

No trim. But I have broke one windshield. Pusshed too hard on it and splintered it in four places. I'm thinking about trying it agian???? But don't know if it is worth saving a few dollars.

Hey ya, I have looked around in your build thread but never realized where it was from. What a beautiful truck. Thaose wheels just did it for me.

Thanks....it's been quite a project.

My first glass broke in one of the upper corners because we started roping the window in at the bottom first and when we got to the upper corners and the sides were in and the top wasn't, it caused the corner to crack.

It's more of a pain, but it you start at the top first it won't place as much stress on the upper corners. Ideally, 3 people would be best to install after doing it with 2 and wishing we had an extra set of hands.
