If you could built/buy the ultimate truck, what would it be?
What would you ultimate truck be? Stock or modified, year, style, 2 or 4 wheel drive, options and accessories?
Mine would be a 72' Chevy 3/4 ton, BB, 4 speed, with every option that I could get. Tilt, tac, a/c, ect. 4" lift with 33's maybe 6" with 35's. The color would be the hardest choice. I love black with all the chrome trim...but also the light solid blue with a white top. If I chose black I would want true saddle tan leather seats. Definitely would have to have cab lights also. What about you? What's your dream truck? Is it SLAMMED to the ground with 24"s? Maybe you already own it and would like to add to it!! I still love Ol' Red!!!

Re: If you could built/buy the ultimate truck, what would it be?
My ultimate truck would be a 4x4, 1 ton srw, lifted a little, with 35's or less. 1967, with the small back widow, A/C, tach, tilt. BB, with a NV- 4500 trans. Paint would be either pure silver, chrome accent, or Copper Head copper with white cab.

Re: If you could built/buy the ultimate truck, what would it be?
Short step...
maybe a short fleet... Either way it'd have a cad 500 with a TH/400 and a gear vendors on the tail end of it, 3.07 gears, no idea what color. Kinda want an air bad suspention with 20's, kinda wnat an old school hot rod look with side pipes and ghost flames... I dunno about the short wheel base truck dream. 2 wheel drive blazer; Cammed out small block... 3.73's, 200 4R, either black, silver, burgandy... one of them. Either white or saddle colored leather int. bags, 20 inch TT2's, Loud pipes... not p!dssin off the neighbors loud, but enough to get a gear head's attention. Hmmm, a big block burb... I dunno what size big block, but it'd be a big block. I've always liked them in black or silver... but this oachre and white is REALLY growin on me... bags and TT2's again, no idea on the inside... probably very stock... or stock-ish. Quiet. Maybe a slight rumble... but very quiet. Daulie longhorn, on bags. Some kind of directional alluminum wheels. Cad 500 for certian. 3.42 dana, TH400 gear vendors, set up as a haulling rig. Call me crazy... but a long wheel base beater, semi flat black, rallys, heated springs for attitude, bench seat with a seat cover, inline... 250 probably, 3 on the column... maybe a glass pack to supress the noise a little. Cracked windshield, probably some rust holes.... something i could drive and not worry about it gettin stollen. too many dream trucks in my head to pick just one. Re: If you could built/buy the ultimate truck, what would it be?
ultimate truck....
well, it would be a 2wheel drive, short fleet, 1971 or 1972, cheyenne. with buckets tilt cruise ac 2 tone red and white, cowl induction hood, with cragar ss wheels, and white letter tires. actually the engine is not a big factor as i want this to be a daily driver. so i guess overdrive is a must and i want it to be whisper quite. the only sound i want to hear from it at idle would be the sound of the cooling fan chopping air. i love the sound of dual exhaust but i also want to hear some good quality sound from the stereo. oh yeah, i guess a killer sound system is in order. with an mp3 compatable cd changer, so i can listen to my 1400 or so mp3's. (i am an oldies kind of guy.) Build of this ride is in the works. when its done, i am gonna find an old trans am , corvette, or some such to work on for the next twenty years or so. Tony

Re: If you could built/buy the ultimate truck, what would it be?
Besides the ones I am currently building,or I've bought the truck and I'm going to build..I'd like to build a red/white 72 K20 LWB Cheyenne with stock bucket seats and console, tilt, tach, auxillary tanks, toolbox, bumper guards,Tinted windows, window trim,A/C,any other good dealer add ons,etc,72 tow hooks, rear hooks,NV4500,NP205 and a 402 or maybe a 427 under the hood..do a clean job with it and try to make it look OE.Small lift,2" or 4" lift, and 33's on wide OE rims with hubcaps..DANA 60 in the front with Posi and a Eaton HO52 no spin rear..

Re: If you could built/buy the ultimate truck, what would it be?
My dream truck would be a two-tone red/white 3/4 ton 68 longhorn. CST, Factory AC, 327 or 396. Throw in some chrome dog dish hub caps, factory buckets, Speed warn, and a TH400 auto.
A close second, 68 CST short wide bed, 293 3-speed with factory OD. Otherwise equipped as above.

LawMan02, your GMC is right up there near the top to me. Hopefully I am building my dream truck. I just wish the dream would was finished
No, I guess mine would be a short fleet with a tweaked 5.3, maybe stretch the cab a hair. Of course all the niceties that are on the newer ones, cruise, AC, .........ya ya ya.

Re: If you could built/buy the ultimate truck, what would it be?
I would have TWO trucks....
First- '67 Red on Red CST (picture below) stock chrome moldings, emblems, etc... only difference would be small back window and factory CST buckets in Red leather.. It would also have Tilt, Tach, A/C, P/S, P/B, 5-lug Disc's & 3.73 posi., and yes I would keep the ralleys... Second- '68 crew cab shortbox (picture below) only difference would be Factory yellow and white two-tone. It would have Tilt, Tach, A/C, P/S, P/B, Disc, 3.73 posi, houndstooch black/white interior... And the wheels would constantly be changing as everytime I find ones I like, I find another set I like a little bit more, until I see the last set again, etc... PLUS... I'd have a '32 Ford Roadster project near completion on a trailer behind on of them... (hopefully the owners of these trucks won't mind me using them... Come'on they're my dream trucks) FIRST SECOND

Re: If you could built/buy the ultimate truck, what would it be?
1) the truck i am building now - '69 GMC lwb. Truck was passed down to me by my dad when i was 15, so it is staying long. It was maroon, and i am painting it in '89 chevy truck "medium garnet red metallic" (also maroon, only brighter) - restored external appearance with upper and lower moldings intact, 4" F/6" b mechanical drop (no bags on this one) - 6 lug torq thrust ST's or Salt Flat wheels. Current motor for this project is a 505 stroker, but i would prefer a new 572 big block painted to look like a stock 400 big block, in front of a TH 400. Nitrous bottle concealed under the bed - direct port system hard plumbed under the manifold to make it hard to find. I will also replace the leafs with a ladder bar system. Interior would have a stock appearance with low back buckets and a console, but i want a Vintage Air system. Tunes will be hidden in the glovebox and controlled via a remote,
Obviously, i have a little bit more work to do. 2nd choice would be a loaded short fleet Cheyenne, CST, or Sierra Grande in the ever popular Orange and White 2 tone paint scheme. Again, i would probably store the stock engine and install something much bigger and faster (but disguised to appear as stock as i can get it) -- with the dismal mileage most big blocks get, why not have a truck that can surprise a late model Trans Am ? But the ultimate powerplant in dream land would be the new 430 hp Vette motor and tranny. Again, with the chassis built more for performance than looks- but with a nice, low stance I guess thats it Oh, and 3rd, i will take a restored 1st gen Blazer (stone stock, with maybe an HEI and some Rally wheels retro-fitted, nothing more, and tires no bigger than 32's or 33's (this one is for runnin around the beach) |

Re: If you could built/buy the ultimate truck, what would it be?
Mine would be a truck that looks like a truck... '67 or '68 stepper
Some "patina" but solid...comfortable and fun to drive (PS/PB, cruise control would be nice). AC would be a must, tilt (to get around the belly), Buckets that can lay back alittle (that belly thing again), STRONG motor (but nothing outrageous a built 327 or 350 would work). As far as sound, it shouldn't really be LOUD but have that "don't f--- with me" sound. OK I'm ready to work on my truck again...

Re: If you could built/buy the ultimate truck, what would it be?
Anybody familar with the "Big Red Camaro"?...69 tube chassis aluminum big block that spanked many high dollar exotics a number of years ago at the Silver State Classic Nevada road race.
Just like that but only truck style!!

Re: If you could built/buy the ultimate truck, what would it be?
Don't know much, other than it has been for sale a couple different times in the Denver area. Last it sold for around $25,000.00. I would have bought it, but my other half said the usual NO! The seller thinks that it was a dealer done job, and even though it has four door handles, it only has 3 working doors. Still a very cool truck, updated interior, sound system, basically everything is gone through. Hubba Hubba.

Re: If you could built/buy the ultimate truck, what would it be?
67 Short step,PS,PB,A/C,small rear window.Worked over 6 with aod.Stretch the cab about 4 in for legroom and add tilt.Solid color probably a copper/gold metallic.Saddle tan interior.Steelies with dog dishes or baby moons and trim rings.
Dead reliable but fun with just enough exhaust note to make a guy look but different enough to make them wonder.

For me, it would have to be a clone of SeeTen's 4x4! Make mine black exterior, red interior, with all theoptions, including a big block, and you wouldn't be able to pry the grin off my face with a crowbar! ...Joe

My Dream trucks would be the 2 I drive the most made out of 302 stainless steel.
I'd never have to deal with rot or rust ever again and all I'd have to do is replace worn out stuff. Frank
