Question 90's 3/4 ton wheel fit on a 70's 3/4 ton?

I had always thought this would work. My friend is looking to buy a set of 90 model 3/4 ton Chevy steel wheels for his 1971 K20 truck. (with the Eaton rear) He found a set for sale. The guy selling them bought them for his old 3/4 ton truck with a Dana and said they wouldn't fit. The hole wasn't big enough.

I know there is a few on here running the late model steel & aluminum wheels on their classics.

Just wanted to know what works and doesn't work.

Thanks

The Dana probably came from a Ford which have a bigger hub diameter.
