speeedometer gasket

is there a seal on the speedometer cable where it connects to the transmission

i dont believe there is a seal or gasket on the cable itself, but there is a o-ring seal in the transmission where the cable screws into, the plastic gear is under there, some dismatling required but i think it is something that you can replace without to much trouble. do a search on the site and maybe someone else will chime in. if all else fails, do a google search or call your tranny guy.good luck.
