Re: 67-72 VIN Number Codes & Model Number Codes
Well...it's the thought that counts. Questions have been asked @ various times about the VIV #'s I guess even I didn't relize it was listed. Plus this is much more colorful then the link. Color is good.

Re: 67-72 VIN Number Codes & Model Number Codes
LOL! Most ppl don't know it's there, I almost always link to it when the question comes up.
It's only shortcoming, is the extra C on a 72 chevy. This vin decoder does not address it. |

Re: 67-72 VIN Number Codes & Model Number Codes
One can have knowledge and still not have wisdom. So...the day may come when I will have both but until that day arrives I will strive to continue to do one good deed a month. I stand corrected...but this was my best effort at least for now.

Re: 67-72 VIN Number Codes & Model Number Codes
lotsa ppl don't know about it, so yes, it was a very good attempt.
Also, another detail left out on that decoder, on plants that had 2 assembly lines making trucks, the first truck off line A, would be 100001. (as indicated in the decoder) However, the first one off the assembly line B, would be 700001. |

Re: 67-72 VIN Number Codes & Model Number Codes
Very good point Longhorn Man...that is one thing I did not consider. Again as we (I) continue to read the various post I will continue to get educated on the finer aspects of these trucks and related info.

On the left, 3rd link down from the top We don't have a GMC decoder. I think if we pulled all the GMC info together, we'd have all the info we need... but as far as I know, there is nothing published. |
