rear disc brakes?

i have a 79 with rear drums and front disc. could i get parts out of a junkyard to swap off a another truck that had factory rear disc? if so what parts would i need? i could buy new rotors, calipers, and pads from any autoparts place. but what else would i need? the kits to do the swaps are @ least $600.

Re: rear disc brakes?

There are a couple threads on the 67-72 parts board by members that are making adapter brackets.

I wonder if rear discs would actually gain anything. On most of the trucks I have owned, the rear drums didn't seem to come into play unless I had weight in the bed.
