thought i found the deal of a life time

so last night a guy calls and says i have a 69 3/4 ton 4wd for $500. i said id like to come lok at it. on my way i almost hit a black cat crossing the street and thought this is not good. i get out the guys place and the truck is in a dark shed. we start it and take it for a drive. the truck runs great has a lot of power shifts great. has tach dash. there is still a little light out side so i look at the glove box door. its a cst then i see 396 ci and about wet my self (i held the excitement in) and pop the hood only to find a 350. man if this would have big block i would have went and bought a lottery ticket. anyways i bought it. i will be posting pics on saturday when i get it home.

Looks like maybe you have the orignal motor. 4x4 trucks BB's never came from the factory. Nice find...I am looking forward to seeing pics.

Check to be sure the SPID / Glovebox door belongs to the truck. If it was replaced over the years it would explain the mismatch.

Just because it has a small block in it now doesn't mean it has to stay there. Put a '96 in it!

Sounds like a body swap.Nothing wrong with that as long as you know.Does the VIN start with a C or a K?
