Re: Newer bed and matching wheel openings

I want to say that I like it. That has to be the best looking way to put a late model bed on one. It matches at least. However...if you're going to put that much work into an old truck making it a new one....why not buy a new one? It is a good looking truck though. Not worth 12 thousand to me but someone may buy it.

I'm still not a fan of the new beds on these trucks

Re: Newer bed and matching wheel openings

I don't like it,I dont like the way they did the front fenders, and I dont like the newer beds on the 67-72s...If going to put that much work in it to make it look right, why not just search a little harder for a correct bed and put on? They may have wanted something different but they look great with a stock look and making it look newer isn't helping the appearance. If they want a truck with square wheel openings, buy a 73+...leave the great looking 67-72s for the rest of us.

Re: Newer bed and matching wheel openings

Well Corn, I think you're right.
We are all so used to seeing these trucks with the round wheelwells they just don't look good without them. The late bed would be a much better match if someone would just make the wheelopenings ROUND to match the fronts. I've seen some photochop'd pics of one done this way and it really looks good. And the fenders are only fiberglass, right? How hard could it be? Someone ought to make a kit for this.

Re: Newer bed and matching wheel openings

i don't know why anyone would want a plastic bed on one of these trucks anyway but why not modify the wheel arcs on the bed to match the truck rather thanthe truck to match the bed. just my oppinion, not that it's gonna change anything

Re: Newer bed and matching wheel openings

My opinion is why go through any of the trouble and expense when you can buy brand new Goodmark parts, and build a complete short fleetside bed from scratch for not much more money, and it looks a million times better? ...Joe
