big block fuel pump

I am stabbing a basically stock 454 in my trusty (well....somewhat trusty) 75 this week.

Everything is lined up and in place, the toolbox is organized, etc etc -- all the gaskets and miscellaneous bits are either here or on the way.

My only experience with big blocks is in my race car - which has always had an electric fuel pump----- which means i have the basics down, but do not know all the ins and outs of small block to big block interchangeability for street motors

I know the HEI will work, but will the fuel pump? -- my 350 had a nice Edelbrock mechanical pump i would like to use if i could

No, they are different. Not sure how, but when I ordered my Holley FP I saw different part numbers for BB and SB.

Yup, they're definitely different, although I'm not sure how they're different, either... How do you like that Holley pump? A buddy of mine grabbed a new BB Holley pump at a swap meet thinking it was for a small block, so I inherited it... Not sure when I'll get around to installing it.
