I was thinking of having the top to my Blazer sprayed with a bed liner material. Was curious if anyone here has had this done and what product was used or any opinions on the matter. I like the texture of line-x but it seems to get chalky after awhile.

Not a bad idea. Of course its black, and about 3/16" thick, but it would be a nice texture. I have linex in the back of my GMC Sierra. The chalkiness is just dirt, pressure wash it and its gone.

PS One thing I like about Linex is the eveness of the texture compared to the knockoffs.

Good question. I was thinking about using 3M Body Shutz (?spelling) on mine, but never seen how that would hold up either

I figured it would save some time on body work since the bed liner would hide the little imperfections. I also thought it might add a little rigidity to the top but was also wandering how much weight it might add. I don't think the weight would be an issue with mine since I have the lighter single wall top.

I've thought about using the roll on stuff. It wouldn't add much weight at all. The gallon can the stuff comes in weighs less than 20lbs. I've used it on the lower half of my Dodge with nice results.

I love the idea. I would DIY with a product called Hippo liner. I've used that on a customers vehicle at my shop. I really like HIppo liner because you can tint it any color you want just by adding automotive paint to it. All you need to do is prep the top, get a shutz gun (I prefer the 3M) @ $67.00, and your Hippo liner(white) and your compressor. BTW, the HIppo liner is about $90.00. The project total is way less than having your top professionally done. Later, Mario.
