?? for you guru's
Did 67 2wd's come out with power steering boxes on them???? The only 67's I've ever parted that had PS was the power assist stuff. I'm real curious about this? I got some pics I'll share with you all, I got to go get my camera and I'll post them. This is real strange to me what I found today, never seen this before. Thanks Randy

Re: ?? for you guru's
I've seen a late 67 that had it, it *looked* stock, had the frame dent...
However, I've seen 68's that didn't have it. |

Re: ?? for you guru's
this is a 67 frame and vin all match, has the frame dented and had this bracket on it. I never seen one with the frame right and this bracket before

Re: ?? for you guru's
Need to see more of the frame. What do the top of the frame rails look like next to where the engine sets? I also do not see the pronounced indentation. The bracket that it has is the one for the ram assist style power steering. WES

Re: ?? for you guru's
Longhornman, I was thinking the same thing
Wes, I'll get more pics Sun, its got the indentation on the outer wall of frame for the bolts for the PS box. I was thinking the bracket may be from a power assist setup. Thanks Randy

Re: ?? for you guru's
Randy,
that bracket is from the ram-assist p-s. i, too have seen 67s with intregal p-s boxes that looked oem and 68s with ram-assist that looked oem too. but i've never seen one set up both ways.

Hmmmmm, I can see the raised places for the bolts. I just am not seeing the indentation.. What steering gear was bolted to it? WES

Re: ?? for you guru's
I`m stumped at this point and am hereby turning in my guru badge.I guess it could have the indent as found on some`67s(late,I`d imagine),but came with the ram-assist steering. Then, later, was swapped to the power gear later due to problems with the ram-assist.I don`t know how serviceable they were or if parts could be found.

I'll get some more pics and info Sun and let you guys hash it out. I'm lost on it. I'll look at glove box option list too and see what it says. Thanks Randy

Re: ?? for you guru's
I would guess it had the ram assisted power steering from the factory, and was later changed over to conventional power steering gearbox. I can't see why the ram assisted bracket would be there otherwise.

Re: ?? for you guru's
The frame and the bracket look just my '67 with ram assisted PS.
