Gauge question

Guys,

My 67 SWB was an original 6 cyl/3spd "farm truck". I bought it was a 350/400combo. I am going to restore this truck to factory specs on the inside and out, except for the drivetrain.

My gauges are just the big three (speedo to the left, gen and oil pressure lights in the middle, and fuel to the right). I have the wiper switch and headlight switch on the upper left and the choke on the upper right corner. I cannot find a new gauge bezel that replecates this.

I can find the bezel with the 4 smaller holes on the bottom with the switches set up this way but thats it. I have looked at a few of my catalogs and nothing.

I am going to restore the dash and may go with the bezel with the four small holes and put in autometers along the bottom but I was curious about my setup.

Thanks
Mike

Re: Gauge question

Hang on geoman, someone will jump in here pretty quick. I've seen the bezel you need in a catalog, but it doesn't have the light switch hole. One of the board member vendors will be along.

Re: Gauge question

I have a factory bezel just like that I was just about to cut holes in so I could have the gauges. We could just trade. My truck is far far from stock or am I worried about it. The grey edge has rubbed/faded off and needs to be refinished. Let me get my camera battery up to the task and I will show you what it looks like anyhow.

Re: Gauge question

Here it is with my gauges. They are still out there. My last 68 had one just like it. It appears that the names of the switches are into and onto the bezel. In other words the letters are raised and the bump they are on is also molded all onto the bezel. None of the bezel is replaceable as far as the plastic part is concerned. It is one solid piece of plastic, letters and all.

The 67-8 idiot light dash bezel is not being repopped, only availible in 69-72(no choke provision) so you will have to restore your(if you can ) or find a uaable bezel and restore it.

Re: Gauge question

Thanks for the info. The P.O. painted it red and drilled some holes in the bottom for some cheap aftermarket gauges.

I will either upgrade mine and get the one with all the holes or try and find a good used stock bezel and restore the best I can.

Thanks again for the info!
Mike
