Re: ram horn redo

Mr Billla is right, Take the grinder an keep taking metal off and trying to
not get too deep. I just keep a light touch trying not to scorch the metal.
I just kept going until it fit my eye. Then I got out the dremel for area
unreachable by the BFG. The the rest of the areas were bead blasted
with aluminun oxide. Then I painted them with some 1500 degree aluminum
paint. Every one has how far they will go with certain areas of a build. But
what else ya gonna do on rainy days. I didn't keep up with the hours, I just
kept grinding. Anyways I got my motor back the other day and went out
to the shop and dummy hung the one I finished. I going to post it on my
thread build page here in a minute.

Re: ram horn redo

Great inspiration with the ramhorn polishing…I’m a true believer in the ramhorn’s capabilities but with my new build I want something prettier than the stock manifolds.
Thanks! I’ll now follow in your footsteps! PS-great pics, too.

Re: ram horn redo

I smoothed a pair (not Rams) on my old 67 ElCamino a few years back , took forever then had them thermal coated swore I'd never do it again but after seeing yours . I just may give it another go on my Vette Ram horns !
