Re: Need help choosing an electric trailer brake controller

I have about 7 different ones currently on all my personal and work trucks and they all do the job for me. I think its like most anything.....stay away from the cheapest just to be safe.

And I dont buy anything made in China!!!!

Every vehicle I've driven has had a Tekonsha Voyager. It's worked really well for me.

Re: Need help choosing an electric trailer brake controller

get the prodigy and buy extra pocket mount brackets and wire pig tails and you can move the controler to any vehicle. I have one prodigy controler that I use in my pickup, the wife's tahoe, and the motorhome.

I like the newer ones that have a readout of the amount of braking.

Re: Need help choosing an electric trailer brake controller

We pull an 8000 lb trailer with the 3/4 ton Suburban, and have a Prodigy brake controller. When we bought the Suburban, it had a cheaper controller and the combination was unsafe. With the Prodigy, you hardly know the extra load is there when braking. We highly recommend.

I have made an honest effort over the past 2 years to not buy anything knowingly made in China. There have been a few slip-ups but not too many. I also avoid things made in India because a lot of them are actually made in China and packaged in India. I also no longer shop at Walmart!!!

Yep........its tough but we must make a stand!!!

Re: Need help choosing an electric trailer brake controller

I have the Voyager in my Burb and a digital one in my pickup. The digital one works but it is not nearly as smooth as the Voyager.
