67 Only options/parts

Ok I am getting ready to build a 67 Chevy SWB from pretty much the ground up as the inside and engine bay had a small fire in the past and need to know which parts were unique to 67 only or were short run. I have a 71 GMC LWB which will be donating a lot of parts and want to see if anything is transferable and still be correct. There may be a list already out there but was unable to pull it up on the search function.

Re: 67 Only options/parts

Just for starters: fenders/boxside, rear window is small, dash knobs, door handles, the whole dash, (ign switch, ash tray,) parking brake setup is 67-68, i think window cranks are different also. I am sure more will answer...

Power Streering (Corvette Style Assist)setup is unique to 67's and early 68's.

Re: 67 Only options/parts

I'm curious also... as my 67 has a 69 front clip on it. (so I was told)

I'd like to put the correct parts back on it... and don't know what is different as far as fenders, hood, grille and rad support goes.

I don't know if the previous owner just put a 69 grille in it, or if he replaced fenders & hood too.

You can't put a 69 chevy grill on 67/68 fenders without cutting the grill up. BUT you can put a newer (69-72) GMC grill on 67/68 Chevy/GMC fenders. GMC used the same fenders from 67-72 (67's with no turnsignal cutouts.)

*IF* your truck has a 69 CHEVY front end on it, you will basically need a complete 67/68 front clip (grill, hood, fenders, core support, hood latch)

Re: 67 Only options/parts

From what I hear, some 67's had flip forward bench seats. I have one in my truck but it was in there when I bought it.

Re: 67 Only options/parts

Sure can, that is a complete 69-72 front clip with a 69 grill. 70 grill is the same, except the plastic insert is different (horizontal plastic slats only). A 71/72 chevy grill will work on your truck too.

If you want a 67/68 grill you will need a complete 67/68 clip.

*Nice truck, looks like a clean starter truck.

Your truck definitely looks like a 67 with a 69 clip... small window cab and no turn signals in the bed. You can check the VIN to be sure.
