Reverse Tilt Hood
I was at the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona and came across a 69 c10 with reverse tilt hood on it. It really looked trick. I just purchased a dropmember from Porterbuilt and with 22's on the front I am going to come up with a solution to remove the stock hinges and install new hinges on the front to make my hood tilt forward. I have seen some universal reverse hinges from Autoloc but in my opinion they look cheap. Anyone have any build pics or some advise. thanks mark

Re: Reverse Tilt Hood
Welcome to the board from Sunny Seattle, WA...LOL! You certainly started with some nice gear from Porterbuilt...his stuff definitely rocks! Post some pics of your truck and those 22's.

Re: Reverse Tilt Hood
Lesabres and Park Avenues from the mid 80's had those hinges.

Re: Reverse Tilt Hood
thank you my friends. this truck is growing well out of proportion!!! i originally bought my 1971 and paid darn good money for it because i thought if i got one with a good paint job, a big block, and A/C i would be satisfied with it. it only took two months until i started taking the truck apart.....i have never done that before but i gave it a shot. i then decided to go with a compete kit from air ride technologies and with that power coated the frame and started assembling. then i joined this group and saw what nathan was doing. it took me about three days to order his drop member and now it is coming back apart. I am waiting for Nathan to get the rear kit ready for my 1971. I guess I am going to sell my air ride technologies rear kit I have installed. I am going to have to cut out the ride tech's c-notch because it is too small.

Re: Reverse Tilt Hood
That looks like a cherry 64/65 chevelle convertible behind your frame. Is that yours also? Reason I ask is because my dad is the original owner of a 64 SS conv. Chevelle. One sweet ride.

Re: Reverse Tilt Hood
Wow, thats nice, and you kept all the trim. Most delete the lower since it gets thrashed. Yours has the red int. my dads is black. but otherwise very similiar. He kept stock covers on steel wheels. My first car was a 64 4dr Chevelle w/6 banger. Great starter car tough as nails. I only drove dads 2-3 times(so far). It is waiting for resto #2 to get back on the road. Good chatting with you about it.

Re: Reverse Tilt Hood
Welcome also! Beautiful frame, Chevelle and SHOP! I think I would sell that frame and start over on another one. That thing is too nice to tear back apart. Do you have any pics of your truck before you tore it down?

Re: Reverse Tilt Hood
The cars are nice but I like the shop better. You are a lucky man to have both.

Re: Reverse Tilt Hood
Sad and depressed I will go back out into my 51* shop and lay on the concrete floor () dreaming of that shop. You know most guys would be happy with a set of tall jack stands and here you have two lifts!
But since you have gone and put up cars pics I will play along! This is our 67 SS 396 chevelle, 3rd owner with under 31K original miles And can't leave out the wife's 07 SS, LS2 395hp. Kevin LFD Inc. |

Re: Reverse Tilt Hood
yep, I have some pics of the truck before. i have them on another computer and I will post them tomorrow. it was a darn nice truck before I tore it apart. that is funny that you said sell the frame because my brother said the same thing. i just did not think there would be a market to sell it. it does have a great power coat finish. with nathan's suspension i would be taking apart alot along with cuting out the old c notch and in with the new. any suggestions? the garage has been a long time coming. thank god i have a very understanding wife. heck, I have a nicer stack washer and dryer out in the garage for my car towels than she has in the house!!!! i just put in my second lift because i figured the c10 is going to be taking up some space on a lift for a while. a good friend of mine just moved in town to do the body work on the truck..suicide doors, one piece glass, shaved door handles, reverse tilt hood, etc etc. o, by the way, 22" wheels in front and 24" wheels in back by boze wheels. anybody what to buy a frame!!!!!
