You could also have a flat cam, loose rocker(I just had this happen, it did exactly what your was doing!), or your timing is too adanced. Sounds like its firing with the one of the valves still open, set your timing with a timing light and you should be good to go!

ill check the rockers tomarrow the timing will have to wait till thursday night when im in the schools shop till 900
