Dash pad removal

I'm looking to remove the stock dash pad in my 87 1/2 ton. How do I go about this? I've searched but have come up empty handed.

Re: Dash pad removal

remove the dash bezel, remove screws located along bottom edge of pad, remove screw on passenger side of dash pad, then pull.

Re: Dash pad removal

5 1/4" bolts across the bottom of the dash, 1 on the passengers side end and all the bolts holding the cluster on (12 phillips)

Re: Dash pad removal

Are there any up near the windshield or just on the front edge?

Re: Dash pad removal

none, only clips. It has to be pulled forward to get it out.

Re: Dash pad removal

I just took mine off today. When removing the pad, it helps to pull up the door weather stripping near the ends of the dash pad. I had to do this on mine to make the pad slide out easier.

Re: Dash pad removal

ON my 86 at one time some had installed a cheapie dash cover. It also covered up the screw on the right side. The one that you have to have the door open to see.I had to drill a small hole in the panel to remove screw.New dash panel is on the list.
