i got my truck!!!

Well after a long talk with the guy that owned that truck i was paying on, i ended up owning it for 1k, a 2500 reduction from the original 3500 price tag. See i guess he thought i was just a kid he could take advantage of and he wanted me to pay more than the agreed upon amount a month. So i told him forget it and give me my cash back. Well, he couldn't do that so he offerered to sell me the truck for just 500 more. At the time i had put 500 down already, hence the 1k. Now i begin the long process of restoring my truck AGAIN lol
guess it can only get better from here, at least my luck is starting to turn for the better.

Re: i got my truck!!!

That looks really good for the price!
I hope those pictures are showing YOU in possession of said truck?
What do you need to restore? it looks good in the pics.

And congratulations on being a stubborn winning haggler, that is a great skill to have.

Re: i got my truck!!!

it needs some body work, apparently the guy that owned it prior was restoring it and then got in a accident and messed him up mentally. He took a hammer to the truck , needs a new motor(not immediately, but the current one is tired), and the steering column and linkage is shot. The compressor for the a/c is missing other than that thats all the big stuff. they have moved the gas tank to under the bed( behind the tires) converted to 5 lug all around, disks in the front and shaved the gas tank fill nozzle( did a pretty good job too.)

Sounds like a heck of a deal for $1K. Nice score. Way to stay after the guy and get your money's worth too.

Re: i got my truck!!!

Glad it worked out to your favor. Hope you're still healing okay and don't have any more issues. Looks like you made a good deal and it's got a start on the things you wanted to do.

Re: i got my truck!!!

Berencam. Glad to hear it's all YOURS finally. Now I can say congrats. This truck may be better over all than the other one? It's got paint! Is this one a standard too or auto? I believe the upper and lower column bearings are available if you'd like to rebuild your column. They can't be that expensive. Now if it's the linkage from the column to the tranny that's another deal.
