What are these wires?
Hey guys. The other day I noticed these wires on my truck. Never really paid attention till now. If you look at the main fuse box, just to the left you'll see 5 or 6 colored wires that are all cut. They don't look factory but i wanted an opinion from you all. They come out of the firewall...
Thanks! Last edited by xtreme80; 12-20-2007 at 09:00 PM. |

Re: What are these wires?
Looks like they're stuffed through the same grommet as your speedo cable there and that's not factory at all. Put yer head where your feet go in the cab and look up to see where these wires run to. If they go nowhere and you don't need them, then yank'em and chuck'em.

Re: What are these wires?
Yeah I figured it was aftermarket. I'm gonna get under there soon and look, just haven't had time and thought I could get your opinions first. Thanks!

Re: What are these wires?
I can't tell. Under my dash it's a wiring nightmare. I see the wires coming through the firewall and they trail off into the mess of other wires and get tangled with all the stuff that the PO used to wire up the alarm. I don't think they are for the alarm though.
One of these days I'll find out. |
