The Jerk

I just turned on Universal HD adn THE JERK is on. Filmed in 1979.

Steve Martin just got a ride in a old chevy c-10 pickup...two tone dark green. Has any one seen this.

By the way, the movie is stupid..but funny.

Re: The Jerk

We couldn't afford the optigrab because "I was born a poor black child." It was a classic. Steve has gotten too serious for me now compared to his early stuff. I got more quotes, some might not be appropriate for family viewing.

Re: The Jerk

One of the greatest openings in all movie history.
Steve Martin - "I was born a poor, black child."

I have some albums in vinyl of some serious early Steve. I still laugh about the cat that was the best one ever. Hey what does this have to do with chevys. Oh yeah the truck. I got a free pass at the movie rent place. I will get back with ya.

Re: The Jerk

I remember my dad recording it from TV when I was a kid and watching it many times. I bought the DVD earlier this year and discovered that the TV version has a whole slew of extra scenes throughout the movie that they didn't include in the DVD.

Was the C10 the truck he hitchiked from one side of his yard to the other, or was that later on?

It was the truck that gave him a ride to the gas station where he first got a job.

Re: The Jerk

Ahh, okay, that's right. "You'll pay me $1.10 to work here???"

You gotta love that dog's name. On TV it was "Stupid".

Anyone up for some cat juggling?!
