another stepside question

Are the bed sides(long stepper) the same on a '57 as they are on a '72? I know the fenders are not just asking about the sides. My friend has a long bed stepper '57 and is going to make it a shorty. I want to get the bed if its the same. Thanks

The fender mountimg srface/pattern is different.Aren`t there ribs in the sides that follow the fender shape?I`d have to look at mine.I guess the fenders have a simular outside shape around the edge of the fender.I`m sure it`s doable.Very little difference.The uprights are the same.
