New Blazer articles added to the site

Added these two Blazer articles to 73-87.com, if you want to check them out they are in the 73-87 info page.

http://www.73-87.com/7387info/Road_Test_7380.htm

One is a 76 Blazer road test article, the other is the Hickey Blazer article...both are good reads!

Vic Hickey was the Man, He should have been more known, He passed away a few years ago, I have been buying every car and truck i can find that he built, I have 4 original Hickey rides, I also have over 600 original photos of his projects, I also have a lot of his parts he built and i even bought his trademark name Hickey Enterprises, Keep doing research on him, You also can go to this sites main page and under the search section type in Hickey and there is a lot of good ingo, I own the 1969 Hickey # 40 race truck and the James Garner race car, Ron

Ron, I had no idea that we had a Vic Hickey fanatic on here. I really didn't know we had the "ultimate" Vic Hickey fan on board. I think Vic, and Mickey Thompson were two of the most amazing men from the off road sport. What these geniuses did for that industry is amazing.

Another cool note is the only race my 1969 race truck won was the 1970 Riverside offroad race, Thats when Steve McQueen owned it and Mickey Thompson drove that race, Iam having a blast with this stuff

That's an unbelievable collection of desert racing history you have acquired. Do you take them out and play with them, or is that why you built the 69 Blazer?

I play with them, I took the 69 race truck to Ensenada last November for the 40th running of the Baja 1000, I drove the truck on a Vintage parade from Tijuana to Ensenada 75 miles and ran around Mexico for a week and the night before the race i took the truck of the starting line jump about 55 mph and saw a photo of me getting about 2 1/2 feet air off thr jump and a few montha ago i went to the Las Vegas Mint 400 race, I ran the truck hard in the desert, I try to play with them but i cannot hurt the truck It has 14000 original miles with original paint

That is beyond cool. I'm dating myself, but these trucks, their owners, and the drivers were the pioneers of the classes they dominated, and the industry they formed around the sport.

I am in awe of your collection...

I would say that's some pretty wise investment plan you have there. I don't see that Camaro loosing 27% of it's value like my mutual funds have. Besides, I can't take my portfolio out and cruise it on a Saturday night.
