Finishing the year off right!
Finally took the time/had the time to work on my truck! I've been trying to get it going and just now walked in after test driving it and proclaiming it just about street ready. Today I swapped the '70 grill off the 3/4 ton, figured out why my tranny wasn't shifting out, mounted a sun pro tach on the steering column and dealt with a bunch of ground (or lack of) issues to get my lights working. I need to mount a bumper, replace the windshield and wipers and fix the heater and it will be streetable, if not pretty.
The new (to me) 200R-4 tranny shifts out according to the speedo (which is highly suspect) at 70 mph. Glad I opted for the switch for the lockup convertor so I can lock it up in drive.

It'd be nice to see what you're working on.

It ain't pretty, I gotta get insurance so I can make a trip to the dump. It's amazing how they fill up with junk when they are parked.

Re: Finishing the year off right!
I picked up the bed from my '69, yesterday. I had it soda-blasted. Man, I can't believe the virgin sheet metal on that thing! No bondo, anywhere. The original factory (steel mill) stamping is very faint on the front of the bed, but it's still there. The only marks on the bed are some I did when I was using a DA before re-priming some rusty surfaces. I'd put a pix on here, but I dropped it off to get the bed sprayed with Vortex lining. I'll be picking it up on Thursday or Friday. Then, it's back to the painter.
