New member from San Antonio
I just picked up a new project and was surfing around looking for information. The information and ideas I've found here are great.
I bought a all original one owner '67 Short Wide a couple days ago. It needs a lot of work, but I believe it has good bones. Lots of rust, so I may swap the cab. The seller had a spare that is really solid. |

Welcome, from Abilene. Looks like a good project, what are your plans? Also, what types of bikes do you have or work on?

Re: New member from San Antonio
I have a 454 that I need to finish and I think I'll use it. I'm going to change it to automatic. 4-Link and tubs for the rear with MT Sportman radials. Lowered all around.
I got out of the bike business a few years ago, but here is a picture of the last one I built. |

Re: New member from San Antonio
Plans sound good for the '67, and that's a sweet bike. Is that your personal softail? I'm looking into raking my Night Train a few degrees.

Howdy from Austin.
If my truck looked as good as yours, I'd call it "Done!" Looks like a good start, there.

Re: New member from San Antonio
I agree. The cab in the picture looks good but I know how a picture can not show all. Welcome to the board from Western kentucky. That is also one nice bike you did there.

Re: New member from San Antonio
Thanks for all the good words. After snaggin my clothes a few times on the rusty drip rail, I sometimes think I may have bit off more that I should have with the truck... It will all come together in the end. All it takes is time and money, and I have time.
I built that bike as my personal ride, but after putting about 250 miles on it and winning a few trophys at local shows, someone offered to trade me a airplane for it even. I thought it might be cool to learn to fly, so I took him up on it. |
