taking out the interior: how hard is the process?

once my 87 gets into the spare shop im planning on taking the interior out to lay some dynamat down on the floor, the roof, the firewall and inside the doors. the interior in the truck is in really good shape. the thing im wondring is if i take out the carpet, how is it going to fit once its reinsalled? ive seen people haul out their carpet only to have it never fit properly again.the headliner in the truck is shot so im not worried about that.heres what the interior looks like now, so you can see why i dont want to destroy it

I would suggest getting various size cardboard boxes and pieces of plywood, Place the carpet in a cool flat storage area (out of sunlight/heat). Place boxes/plywood in the raised areas (tunnel) and where it goes up the firewall area (lean plywood on boxes).

The idea is to maintain the same contours out of the truck than when in and keep it from heating up and dis-forming.

nice looking interior when you pull it apart make sure its a pretty constant temperature too so nothing shrinks or stretches too..
maybe do it in the course of an afternoon.. the carpet one day the interior door the next and the headliner the next day

7mm socket and a phillips screw driver and a 3/4 socket for the seat belts are all the tools required

i know how to take it out, i just dont want to destroy it.maybe my small army brain should have tried to be a little more clear
