bag questions
Whats up guys, just have a few questions about my bag set up. I have a 72 sub with a big block. My bags are easy street (air lift) 300 psi bags with 1/2 inch ports. so far I have not beeen able to get them to lift the front up but I have only been able to get 100 psi in them. If I lift the front and then air them up they will hold it up. The rear airs up very quick ( 1/2 inch ports). I have a york compressor that I have not yet mounted, how much pressure do you think I can build with york. Also what bags and pressure are ya'll running with your big blocks?

My shop truck is a 92 dually with a 454 and when it was first bagged it had a thomas 315 with 1/4 inch lines and the paddle valves... same deal as you wouldn't get up but would stay up if helped with a jack.
I kept the same bags (FS224c) and mounts but switched to a Viair 450 and 3/8ths valves. with 3/8ths line. It sits like a brick till about 110-115 lbs but then "pops" up to almost full lift. the rear has never had any problem even with a trailer on. Josh

Slam RE7's here. I'm not laying frame but it only takes about 40#s to start lifting my front end (with a 476). I ride at about 70# (will be less when I can ride lower). 1/2" valve/lines with needle valves. Tank pressure switch is set to 150#.

Mine has a small block, but it still takes 70+psi to start to lift. I usually drive at 80 or so. My bags are FS2600's. Sometimes when I air up the front, the bag gets "stuck". It takes a higher pressure to break the seal created by the wieght of the truck and engine. The larger wieght of a big block will increase the ride height pressure. The rear of the truck weighs less, therefore taking less psi to lift. I drive with the rear at 30 - 40 psi.

My 69 panel takes 110 psi to get the front to start moving up because it seems to get stuck after being aired out. I run the fronts at 125 psi and the rears at 60 psi. The rears come up very quickly. I'm running a Chrysler V-2 A/C compressor with the expansion valve removed and the cut off at 150 psi.
