Corvette Rallyes and Disc Brakes??
Does anyone have this combination of wheels and brakes? I have 15", 6 lug, 10" wide 'Vette Rallyes and I am going to pick up a front disc brake kit from GMCPauls. I am wondering if I am going to have any clearance problems.
anyone know??? Has anyone used the GMCPaul's kit??? Thanks!

Re: Corvette Rallyes and Disc Brakes??
From what I have read on here it depends on the inside of your wheels.
There was a post last spring with a diagram showing the difference on the inside of the wheel.

Re: Corvette Rallyes and Disc Brakes??
I ground my calipers on the out side. It gave me the clearance I needed.

Re: Corvette Rallyes and Disc Brakes??
I have ECE 6-lug disc conversion on my truck, and I am running Wheel Vintique vette-style rallye wheels. On the front, I have 15x8's with a 4-inch backspace. The rears are 15x10's with a 5-inch backspace. Th9ey clear without any problems.
On the other hand, I have a '96 GMC with dropped spindles from DJM. I cannot run the stock wheels on the front, nor can I run a wheel with a 4-inch backspace, if I am running 15-inch diameter wheels. Larger diameter wheels won't be a problem. Just don't have extra funds at the moment and my tires are newly-installed on the custom wheels I already had.

Re: Corvette Rallyes and Disc Brakes??
I have 15" x 10" wides all the way around with 275/60's. Didn't want the front to track wider though.......I have just enough to tuck the tires on bumps with an additional 2.5" drop. Hope it all works out.
70C10, were you happy with GMCPau'l's kit?? ChevLoRay, happy with the ECE?? Here the setup I have at this point.

Re: Corvette Rallyes and Disc Brakes??
I'm a bit paranoid now! So a disc brake conversion is going to cause the rims to set further out???????
Remember, I have 10" wide rims with a 4" backspace.

Re: Corvette Rallyes and Disc Brakes??
Yep sure will by about 3/4" on each side, GM madee up for this on the 71-2 by making the rear end 3/4" wider on each side to make the wheels track the same. You could add a spacer in the rear to even them out.

Re: Corvette Rallyes and Disc Brakes??
I am quite satisfied with my ECE components. I added some NAPA stuff to the mix and have a completely rebuilt front suspension.
Yes, the change from drums to discs on these trucks will add to width of the front track. When I did mine, I was running 15x8's with too much backspace. I swapped them for a pair of 15x7's that I was running on another '69, and solved the problem of tires that came into contact with the fenders and wheel openings. By the way, are you SURE that the wheels you are running are 10-inches wide? The just don't look like they should if they are, like they have a heckuva offset to the inside. I'm running 10-inch wide wheels on the rear of my truck, with 8-inch wide wheels on the front. Rear has a 5-inch backspace. Front has a 4-inch backspace. I have had zero problems with this setup. As an aside, I have to run 15x7's on the front of my '96, with a 3.5-inch backspace, to clear the lower control arms with the inside of my wheels.

Re: Corvette Rallyes and Disc Brakes??
Holy crap, I am an idiot! All of you are right! I have 15 x 8 rims. I have no clue why I thought they were 10's! I chalk this screw up to know sleep due to a 9 month old son!!!!!!!!
Okay clear the page. I have 15 x 8's with 4.5 backspacing and 275/60/15's. 70C10, byrd said that there would be a 3/4" increase in spacing. Did you see that with the GMCPaul kit? ChevLoRay, Thanks for the info. Dig your truck. I see a 'Nam decal on there. If you were there, Thank You for your service! Now I think I will write "I have 15" x 8" rims a thousand time on the chalkboard.....

Re: Corvette Rallyes and Disc Brakes??
Yes. I don't know the exact amount but they are pushed out further.
