Gas Tank Paint

Does anyone know what the original color of the gas tanks were in the C-10 trucks? My 67 is multi-colored..lol and I want to restore it. Also, was there a factory "cover" for it behind the seat or was it just there in plain view?

Thanks for helping me out.
Mike

Re: Gas Tank Paint

I just pulled and cleaned my tank. It wasn't painted at all.

Re: Gas Tank Paint

My gas tank never had paint, at least I don't think grandpa would have taken the trouble of pulling the tank and scraping it .

At least get that cardboard cover, tho, that's the factory set-up

thanks for the info. I am going to paint it a cast color and powdercoat the retention brackets at my shop.
