What is the purpose of it? It is mild steel! Why would you want to waist the space, and money? If that is the best out there, I would say buy some hardened tube and build your own.

Mild steel by its nature bends easy. If i'm spending money for a cage to keep the truck from crushing me I'm gonna put something in with some temper to it.

Re: anybody ever use one of these????
what if you arent building a cage for roll over protection. im looking into more of a pro touring style truck and would like to build a cage to stiffen the chassis.

Re: anybody ever use one of these????
The hardened tube will give more strength than the mild steel no mater what application you use it on. If the extra strength isn't necessary, you can get away with mild steel. There shouldn't be much difference in price between the materials. I just noticed you are in Belton. I'm just across the state line in Stillwell, Ks. If you need the name of a GOOD weld shop, and want to try it locally, let me know.
