Cross Member Help
I need the location of the rear shock cross member (Pics would help also)
I am converting from leafs to trailing arms and I have removed the upper shock brackets from the frame and want to make a cross member out of 2x2 box steel so I can relocate the upper shock mounts. Are the same holes used on the top part of the frame? How far from the frame are the upper shock brackets. I know the bottom hole is for the coil spring. Hope this is not to confusing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Cross Member Help
My damaged brain interpreted the post as if one was having a problem with one of the members.....
If I can get by where my truck is, I'll take a picture....the bed is off so it would be an ideal time, huh? Unless someone else posts one, I'll do my best to have it on here later today.

Re: Cross Member Help
Hope this helps? And sorry ... I know it obscures the actual rivets - my frame is also bare right now, so I can take photos as well if you really need it.

Re: Cross Member Help
Shifty
Thanks alot. If you could possibly take a shot from the back so I can see the shock angle. I want to get an idea on how far over the upper shock mount needs to be on the cross member. Thanks Harry

Re: Cross Member Help
Are you going to use stock upper shock mounts? Also are you going to lower your truck or use stock height springs. I can give you the angle of the shocks on a 4in drop with shock locaters if you want that.

Re: Cross Member Help
If you set the shocks at a 15 degree angle, in and forward you should be good to go. WES
