Removing coil springs.
Can you pull the front coil springs out of a truck with out using a jack? I’ve always used a jack and dropped the LC A slowly so the spring wont go crazy, but I can find a yard that will let me bring a jack (safety issue). They told me to just use a breaker bar. I didn’t think that sounded too safe. Suggestions? I was looking for newer ‘73+ control arms for my blazer.

Re: Removing coil springs.
I've got a set of these that I've used on other vehicles. Not sure where I got them, but H.F. has them also...

Re: Removing coil springs.
The coils on these trucks don't stretch very much. You could take the lower control arm loose & stand back if you had to. You can usually find a jack in the trunks of cars in these pull it yourself lots. You could raise the truck with one of their A-frames with chain hoist & set the lower arm down on a wheel or something.
