Advantage of 4-link over reagular frame mounted bags?

I'm building the air suspension on my truck, and I'm only gonna use it for basic ****, nothing fancy. Any advantage of using the 4 link? The kits are like 600$. I'm trying to see if its worth it.

*****************'s 4links are only like $375 shipped. Then you had a panhard for another $130........

Do some searching on the web and you'll find out the advantages of 4links.

Re: Advantage of 4-link over reagular frame mounted bags?

I've done a little research, but I wanted to hear from the fullsize chevy guys on this. If ride quality and lift height are all thats affected then I wont bother with a 4 link. The only times it will be driving anyway are to the shop (3 miles) and back and onto a trailer. It will usually be on the floor, lol.

How about that? Seems basic, and at that price its perfect for what I need.

Re: Advantage of 4-link over reagular frame mounted bags?

Like mentioned above,a bit more info on the current setup would help.I'll assume you're talking about a square body with leaf rear.I own an 80 and I've considered bagging it.The first thing I would do is lose the leafs and install a four link.To me ride quality is number 1,I don't want to spend a bunch of time and cash on an air set up to have it ride poorly or have less travel than is possible.
As for the jpkustoms kit,I don't know much about those valves, but I haven't heard much good about the Thompson compressors.I have no personal experience with them though.
I didn't notice a notch with that kit? You'll be wanting one of those as well.Easy to make one for next to nothing if you have the tools/equipment.

Yeah I know I'll need notches, but I weld and that wont be a big deal at all. I just want to know if its gonna be absolutely worth it to go with the 4 link when I could spend that money elsewhere.

Well let us know what we're comparing this 4link to.

I wouldn't buy any "kits".

Let us know what you're wanting out of the system and we can tell you the best parts you'll be able to get.

They do offer a few bolt on 4links for these trucks too. Hell, even bolt in step notches.

Re: Advantage of 4-link over reagular frame mounted bags?

It really depends on what your trying to accomplish. Do you want it low, or really low? You can get it low using a mild notch, and air over leaf. This set up will ride just fine.

If you want it on the ground, or close to it you will need a 4 link in the rear. It will require the front to be modified extensively as well.
