What color is my truck?
Can anyone tell me what the correct orignal color name is for my truck? I check inside the glovebox for a sticker and none was found. A friend of mine suggested "Hugger Orange"?? Anyway, it's a '72, 1/2 ton, 4x4. A picture should be attached below:

Matching color chips to pictures is always a suspect way of determining color, but if it is orange there are two choices: Tangier Orange, and Firebolt Orange. Holding the chips to the picture does not help, so I can't tell you which one it is.

Well it sounds like I need to get some paint chips. So where might one find "Hugger Orange", "Tangier Orange", and "Firebolt Orange" chips?

One suggestion for paint chips: If you have an older auto parts store in town, there is a good chance that they'll have a paint chip book...and (if you're lucky) that book will have some older charts in it. My local NAPA store has paint chip charts back to '61.
You might consider contacting an automotive paint supplier or rep. Check with a body shop for the name of a Dupont/Sikkens/PPG factory rep.
