Does any one like longhorns???
Im not really sure where to post this but i was searching through some semi local classifieds and i found this. I am not sure if its a good deal i just never see longhorns for sale.
"1969 3/4 ton Longhorn, V8, 4 speed, PS, PB. $2500. 423-xxx-xxxx" Its located in easterrn tn. I am by no means connected to this ad, I just found it my duty as a board member to try to pass the word on. http://www2.tricitiesiwanna.com/view...arch=&start=40 Ps I think you need to pay a dollar to unlock the phone numbers.(edit) Darrell Last edited by 69Chevy3/4ton; 02-21-2008 at 12:48 PM. |

Re: Does any one like longhorns???
Size does matter to some folks.. I looked at a LH the other day. The price was right $800, but it was really rough. Still a great deal though! If I could, I'd collect one of each! That is, 67 LB, 67 SNB, 67 SWB, 68 LB, 68 SNB, 68 SWB, 69 LB, 69 SNB, 69 SWB, all the way through 72 including a LH for each year they were made!

Re: Does any one like longhorns???
I love that mine is so long. Sure, it takes more time to get it in the spot, but whether your gonna park it from the front or the rear it always fits!

Re: Does any one like longhorns???
http://community.webshots.com/user/hotrodhorn got this old gal in dec of '84, & had planned to chop her down to a short bed. She is a long way from stock now, but still a 133 wb(and will remain that way). That old truck is long, but she slides slow & easy(that saved my azz a time or 2). Try pullin 5 gear around a buck on the speedo, & crossing the truck up HARD (yikes)! If that would have been a shorty, she would have swung around fast enough to spin Yup, I love my old truck crazyL

Re: Does any one like longhorns???
Saw one on a job yesterday. I asked the guy if he was interested in selling it and he began explaining to me what it was, which I hadn't recognized. Before yesterday I thought "Longhorn" was just another name for a longbed. Anyway he explained to me that they built them with the extra piece in the front of the bed so you could slide a camper all the way in the bed. Learn something new everyday.
After the history lesson he said I guess I'd take $3500 for it. I politely declined, but it was neat to see a longhorn for the first time. Has anyone ever seen one converted into a shortbed where they left the longhorn gap in the front of the bed? |

Re: Does any one like longhorns???
the extention wasn't so you could slide the camper all the way in... but so you could buy a bigger camper.
I have never seen one converted to a SWB, that'd be a rough riding SOB since it has a one ton's much stronger and taller frame. |
