Well, I FINALLY finished my interior.
Wohooooo. Finally put the glove box door back on last week It was off for like 8 months!
What sucks: The "new" seat cover cracked. It did this when we had 3 straight weeks of 100+ degree days in August The holder arm for the glove box door hit the V/A unit just a hair, I need to trim it a bit. My new carpet got really dirty from the V/A install. That was my bad. Then it drizzled one day when I was working on it with the doors opened, everything got damp and the metal shavings from all the dash cuts rusted and stained?? the floor. Most of it has come out, but I hope to take the carpet out and try some different cleaners on it.

Re: Well, I FINALLY finished my interior.
The glove box door sticker I got from member "chipflyer" came out AWESOME!!!!
I went old school with the glove box door. Aluminum with a dull finish on the inside and outer ring, spray can bedliner stuff from wally world, clear coat, a CST emblem, and Viola, cool!

Re: Well, I FINALLY finished my interior.
Finally, my view of the dash and the A/C stuff.
Also, the Lokar shift boot. Looks better than the cheesy one I had on it. Edit: Hmmmmm, after seeing a pic of it and not just "seeing it" everyday... my radio looks like total crap (The previous owner made the hole huge. This was my 16 year old self's solution. It's been on there like 11 years )

Nice job. Note to self, clean crap off the floor before the rain
I'll remember that (probably not though)

Re: Well, I FINALLY finished my interior.
Your interior looks good! as far as the rust on the carpet goes, please do not try different cleaners, they will not work. You need to find a company, that services carpet cleaners in you area, and they can sale you a product that will remove the rust. We clean carpet for a living, and you need a acid based cleaner to remove rust.

Re: Well, I FINALLY finished my interior.
Looks great! I like the floor shifter. I would return the seat cover and demand a new one!!! It's a tough thing to swallow when you spend hard earned $$ on something just to have it fail-

Re: Well, I FINALLY finished my interior.
Nice and simple. Looks like you're in the same boat as me with the radio hole.
For the carpet, you might be able to find one of the old "over the hump" floor mats if you can't get the stains out. |

It was a freebie from a board member. He wanted to swap in a newer seat for comfort. It was in excellent condition when I got it. I wish I knew the brand/maker so I could warn others against them, but I don't

Re: Well, I FINALLY finished my interior.
Looks good 67!! I like that color also. The only suggestion I can make other than to follow thru on the carpet and whatever you decide to do on the seat is,do the same thing for your radio.Just do it in Aluminum this time,it should tie in nicely with your other trim.

Re: Well, I FINALLY finished my interior.
There is one fella I work with that is into cars as well. Him and his dad are finishing up a mustang restoration (I think it's a '69) and said he knows a place that would probably redo my seat (even repaint the frame) for less than $200. I'll have to look into it. I really like how it is now, but if they make me a custom one, I want it the same, but with white vinyl where the gray plush stuff is.

Turned out great, sorry to hear about the issues you ran into with the seat.

Re: Well, I FINALLY finished my interior.
For the radio you could buy a small peice of aluminum or go to a retail shop and buy a cover plate for it. They can match them up to fit the hole and the radio. Shouldn't be that hard to do.
