Smile intergrated

Can anyone tell me what is ment be an Intergrated and a Non-intergrated engine.

The only time I've heard a term similar to that used in regards to our trucks is the "integral" or "integrated" intake manifold used on some 6 cylinder engines. All it means is that General Motors in a moment of "dumbness" decided to cast the head and intake manifold into one piece...

Nobody that I know wants an integrated head. I've heard from mechanics, machinists and regular folks like ourselves to stay away from them. Personally, I've never messed with them so I don't know anymore...

Someone else may know more than what I've mentioned..

but the rotating assemblys are several pounds lighter if you wanna build one to wind up

The basic engine is the same, just the head is crap

They are ok with the integrated head till they get hot & then the head will prolly crack

You can put the old 250 head, intake & exhaust manifolds on the block & basically have the non integrated version
