Door Mirror Suggestions

Just mounted one door with 90's era Ford Truck mirror. Not sure I like it. What are your thoughts on door mirrors? Any photos?

Thanks Mark

Re: Door Mirror Suggestions

I like the thought that you can see "around" your rear end. When I was younger (five years ago) I though that newer mirrors were a good idea. Now seeing the lines of the vehicles I think the original mirrors are the way to go.

Re: Door Mirror Suggestions

Matt - those f-150 are very similar to the bronco mirrors I have. Do yours vibrate while driving? It seems the outer sheet metal is not sturdy enough to support the weight "tightly".

Thanks for the photos,
Mark

Re: Door Mirror Suggestions

Went ahead and mounted the other mirror on the drivers side. As a package these look great and I noticed that the passenger mirror is slightly drooping. This is what caused my negative impression.

Thx for the feedback

Re: Door Mirror Suggestions

I have F-150 mirrors on my truck and although they work ok normally, they aren't big enough to see fully around the duals or when i am towing the trailer. I did go out and buy a set of CIPA towing mirrors for them but still not what I want. I have my truck licence and I am used to HUGE west coast mirrors on the big trucks, which give you great visibility though.

Re: Door Mirror Suggestions

I'm a fan of no mirirors. I would use them if they were there but there is no subsitute for turning and looking out your rear window.

esll.

Re: Door Mirror Suggestions

I've never liked the f-150 mirrors... they look bulky and hige... WAY outta place IMO.
On the burb, i have peeps, which look good, but mine totally suck to try and see ANYTHING in.
On the longhorn, I have stock arms, and 6 inch convex mirrors off a big rig. They look good IMO, and I can see EVERYTHING in them. Takes some getting used to, but they are the shiznit.
They look a lot liek these

Re: Door Mirror Suggestions

I run a single peep mirror on my 67 & no mirrors on my 84

Either ways fine with me & stock 67-72 mirrors are ok too

Re: Door Mirror Suggestions

I have Below Eyeline on the Super and now Sport on the Custom. I like both, and obviously visibility is better with a bigger mirror. I prefer the stock look of both, but nothing works better than the rubber neck unless your towing.
