Re: 1972 Fire Truck
The only think rare about the so called "auto-lock" is that almost everyone ordered the "optional" lock out hubs.Kinda like bragging about a radio delete instead of an AM/FM.

Re: 1972 Fire Truck
Or like my dad was bragging years ago about having a 8rare8 82 firebird with the 2.5 4 cylinder.

Re: 1972 Fire Truck
A volunteer department I used to be on has a 69 or 70 (don't remember now) that didn't have the "manual lock out" hubs.
I'm not sure I would drool over that too much. It looks nice and shiny, but being a firefighter and having been a rural volunteer firefighter for 10 years now, I know how brush/wildland trucks get treated. I'm not saying it's in bad shape but without knowing a more thorough history, it may not be a $10,000-$15,000 truck.

I work on said equipment... I agree 100%. 20,000 miles doesn't always mean cream puff.

Re: 1972 Fire Truck
I would love to have it...without all the fire stuff in the bed. One really sharp truck!

Re: 1972 Fire Truck
I'd love to have that truck, contract myself out at $160 an hour at the next Forest fire in the Okanagon, I mean it is a truck to be used right? The only concern would be how often it got washed if there was any trapped water under all the checkerplate and how many hours on the motor, fire trucks sit and idle a lot. but what's a motor.
too cool,
