Anyone know of a good Tonneau cover, something that won't cost the earth either. I've looked at hard covers, hinged covers and they are all too costly, so I have opted for the roll up variety. But now I can't seem to find a make that fits my 71 longbed most seem to run from 73 onward. Any pic's of trucks with Tonneau's fitted would be a help also.

I just installed a Tonneau Masters cover on my dad's 70'. It's very well made with an aluminum frame and bows. It also has adjustable snaps which are very nice. I got an online deal for about $179 delivered. 70GMCer has posted pics of his in the past.

How much are you looking to spend? I was just at a vendor's show and there were about 5 or 6 manufaturers with all different types.

My budget could go to about $400, hope that buys something good.

I just bought a hinged Tonneau Masters cover for my '72 last week. The installation was a breeze, and all parts were quality construction. I paid a total of $299 for it delivered.

i would like to find one the fits in flush with the top of the box so my gm box rails remain on the truck. thinking i will have to fab one to fit (hard top tonneau)

If inexpensive is the first priority, then find a local upholstery shop and have him sew you one up and use snaps ...

Does anyone know of a company that sells tonneau covers for the step sides other than this company www.checkerpro.com? It would be nice to have a few choices before I purchase one.

try these guys out we use them at the Fire Hall on our pickups, it is a roll up hard tonneau and they will support alot of weight on top of the cover.

I've got a 3 piece hard cover for a LWB. Each section opens independently and locks. New never used & way too big and expensive to ship~~~~. It is make of some sort of plastic like alloy. will support like 50lbs. Each section interlocks with the other so you can take them out in minutes which is really nice. You could also just use 1,2 or all 3 sections. Could also use it on the back of a blazer with the back seat out!! Huck

My location is a problem for shipping things like this as they are so big and heavy, and U.K supliers only keep Tonneaus for modern trucks.

Rock and a hard place.
